From 1850 Argentina received a migration flow coming from Europe, but leaded by the Italians. The case of La Plata is particularly interesting since the city was founded in 1882 as the "New Capital" of the province of Buenos Aires and find itself in the need for human resources and materials coming from Europe, specially Italy. A significant number of "constructores" developed in La Plata, this people related to construction work, not only were able to built walls, plan and build civil constructions. In this sense, the article looks forward to dig in the knowledge of Italian "entrepreneurs" in La Plata.

Abstract

Desde mediados del siglo XIX se registró en la Argentina un movimiento migratorio proveniente de Europa, que tuvo como protagonistas a los italianos. El caso de La Plata es de particular interés dado que fue fundada en 1882 como "Nueva Capital" de la provincia de Buenos Aires generando una gran transferencia de recursos humanos y materiales desde Europa y, en particular, desde Italia. Tuvo un significativo número de "constructores" encargados de planificar y dirigir las obras civiles. En ese sentido, esta contribución propone indagar las acciones de los "emprendedores" italianos en La Plata
